The person was discovered in Yonkers on Wednesday, July 31 just before 6 p.m., when what appeared to be a lifeless body was found in the wooded area across from 697 Bronx River Rd. in James P. Scotti Park, Yonkers Police Detective Sergeant Frank DiDomizio said on Thursday, Aug. 1.
Responding police confirmed the person was dead and cordoned off the area to continue the investigation into the death, DiDomizio added.
The incident is now being classified as a death investigation, according to DiDomizio, who added that it is still in its early stages.
